Begin The Day With A Smile

If you have a tough time getting up in the morning, didn’t assume it is because you are lazy or self-indulgent. You are simply being normal. Waking in the morning is much like falling asleep at night A few people fall asleep the moment they get into bed, but most people take a while to settle down. A few people bound out of bed in the morning ready to conquer the world. But the average person doesn’t feel bright and cheery when it is time to wake up and he should not expect to do so.
Because morning fatigue is so widespread and so serious psychologists have been conducting studies of why people find it hard to start a new day, and in the course of their research they worked out a few practical remedies.
If you are in the habit of drawing the shades or curtains in your bedroom when you retire at night, don’t do it anymore. If you don’t draw them, the morning sin will shine into your room and start to wake you. As one doctor put it, Roosters and farm animals are aroused by the morning sun, and we are no different from them in this regard.
If you are in the habit of eating immediately before you go to bed eat very lightly. If you don’t you will be hungry in the morning and your hunger will help wake you. It is suggested too that before you go to bed you might place a glass of fruit juice next to your bed. Drink it as soon as you open your eyes. The sugar in the juice gives you quick energy.
The next suggestion is not to go to bed too early. Does your figure needs about eight hours sleep at night? Studies show that not everybody need eight hours. Many people get along better on five or six hours. It might seem that if you have more sleep than you need you will be full of pep the next morning. But it doesn’t work that way. You may feel as foggy and sluggish as you do when you have too little sleep. If you have difficulty in getting out of bed in the morning, maybe it’s because you sleep too much. Or maybe it is because of how you set the alarm clock.
